Relief Org is the very foundation of tomorrow’s thriving community. It is said that if the roots of a tree are not strong, it won’t be able to survive the storm. This is what we aim for in underprivileged communities.
Our programs include:
Food distribution: We are happy to share that, with the efforts of our volunteers and donors, we are feeding more than 6,000 children and individuals every single day. Our food camps ensure that no one in need goes to sleep on an empty stomach. Furthermore, we take things even further by approaching our donors to celebrate their birthdays with the less fortunate through food donations. We distribute food on every donor’s birthday to make their day and the deprived special.
Education and empowerment: We believe that the nation becomes strong through its core, which includes children and women. Our organization promotes education and empowerment for children and women in slums. We provide quality basic education to children through education camps and empower women through vocational training, including crafting, stitching, and cutting, enabling them to realize their potential and become independent. We encourage them to create earning sources and lead a fulfilling life.
Healthcare: Health is the most important factor in anyone’s life, and people in slums lack it at a very high stage. They not only suffer from a lack of healthcare aid but also a lack of a good hygienic environment, as the roads and areas are made of raw mud and dirt, leading to many health issues such as infections, illnesses, fevers, and more. We provide quality healthcare to people in rural areas, including free regular check-ups, free medicine, and women’s hygiene kits to ensure their better health.
Clothes distribution: Our NGO helps with clothes distribution to needy people through clothing distribution camps, gathering all the people of the slum and providing them with quality clothes, including blankets, socks, winter outfits, and more.
Is poverty the reason behind unfortunate, poor conditions?
According to recent statistics, in 2024, nearly 3.44 crore people will be living in extreme poverty, down from 4.69 crore in 2022. This represents a decrease from 3.3 percent to 2.4 percent of the total population. India has shown improvement in reducing poverty, with the poverty rate declining to 4.5–5% in 2022–23. Rural poverty has decreased to 7.2%, and urban poverty has fallen to 4.6%. These figures highlight the significant impact of poverty in India, leading to a lack of basic amenities for those living in slums and limiting the aspirations and opportunities of children and their families.
Why is poverty there in India?
Poverty in India is a complex issue with roots in historical, economic, social, and political factors. Despite India’s rapid economic growth, poverty remains widespread, especially in rural areas and among marginalized communities. High population growth, inadequate access to quality education and healthcare. Poor infrastructure, and the unequal distribution of resources have all contributed to the persistence of poverty.
Additionally, the caste system, social inequality, and limited economic opportunities have further entrenched poverty. Making it difficult for many people to break free from the cycle of poverty and achieve financial stability.
Our mission
Our mission at Relief Org is to eradicate poverty from society through our initiatives. We aim to make a positive and long-term impact on the lives of needy people. As we believe that promoting a more equal and accessible society for everyone. Regardless of their gender, religion, caste, or age, is essential for eliminating poverty. Equal access to services and rights can unlock the potential of people who currently lack it.
Our NGO works to bring out the untapped potential of individuals in slums and rural areas. By engaging them in skill development and character-building activities through various initiatives. We help them understand their strengths and weaknesses and work to enhance them. Our goal is to provide the same opportunities to children. Elders, and women in order to create a society where poverty does not exist.
