- According to 2023 a report from Azim Premji University in Bengaluru, which was based on official data, over 40% of college graduates under the age of 25 are unemployed. This is in contrast to 11% of those in the same age group who are literate but haven’t completed primary school.
- In India, only 32.8% of females aged 15 years and older are participating in the labor force. As compared to 77.2% of males. The female labor force participation rate (LFPR) for the age group of 15–59 years is 35.6%. While the male LFPR is 81.8%. The overall LFPR in India is 55.2% for individuals aged 15 years and above, and it is 58.9% for the age group of 15-59 years.
